An outstanding quality museum large scale cannon, depicting a 12-pounder naval gun in early 18th Century "combat station". This model is a unique, entirely scratch built by a skilled Italian artisan, Augusto Ubaldini with the cooperation of Ugo Crisponi. The workmanship is of very high quality making it an exceptional collector piece. The heavy barrel is milled from a solid C40 / 1.0511 non-alloy quality steel with medium-high carbon content and low hardenability, as well as all components, finely machined. The smooth walnut wood carriage is nicely detailed with an aged finish to the wood. Rope recoil fitments are done very nicely and to scale. The simulated deck with the proper accessories adds a nice attention to detail on this model. Scale 1:10. Size of the cannon is 27x13x10(H)cm weight 1.700 Kgs. The basement is 33cm in lenght.

This huge model replicates the type that was used by the British Royal Navy during the 18th and early 19th Centuries on the gun decks of Ship’s of the Line in typical ochre and black color of the hull and red gunport. Complete with port rods, and functional ropes for raising and retaining lids in the open position.
It’s design closely follows the drawing above from the Royal Armoury archives of an 18th Century cannon. Everything on the model works just as on the originals. The barrel and all fittings are correctly in black/blue steel and the glue-free carriage can be disassembled as on the real one. It is an impressive model that will take "center stage" on your fireplace mantle, book shelf or desk.
