POCHER

Art. C/02 "Cannone da 24 libbre - Luigi XIV°" assembled

Scale 1:20, 1962

Very rare high end item for collectors.

Excellent high end piece of art

In its shining, flowless excellent mint condition, complete with all the original accessories, this beautiful piece of art has been masterfully crafted and assembled by Maestro Arnaldo Pocher from the goldsmith school. As it can be seen, the ability to make the brass finish in different colors makes it a true jewelry product. This work of art is extremely rare and is one of the very first that were produced in 1962 and were sold pre-assembled.

All the series of historical cannons in wood and metal in 1:20 scale was definitely abandoned in 1972 after a fire destroyed the laboratories. The company was founded as Pocher Micromeccanica snc in 1952 by Arnaldo Pocher and Corrado Muratore. The Rivarossi became a partner in 1963 and then acquired full ownership in 1974.

This is a model of French cannon built in 1736, (should be under King Louis XV and not XIV) with siege carriage and complete with ammunition case and rod for moving the carriage for the direction aim. The inscription in the barrell breech shows the name of the swiss manufacturer, Jean Maritz I (1680 - 1743), the first to bore out the Model 1732 system equipments. These standardized pieces became known as the “Vallière System”.
