French 12 lbs bronze cannon, 17th Century.

An exquisite rare and massive cannon model, in an estimated 1:5 scale, probably made by the end of XIX, early XX century. It depicts a late 17th Century 12-pdr fieldpiece cannon with a nicely aged patina bronze barrel shaped as a truncated cone, with moulded muzzle, provided with acanthus leaf-shaped handles, cylindrical trunnions with vent hole. Cascabel knob of spherical shape. Movable, wooden shaft with massive rayed wheels and iron mounts. Total lenght with carriage 72cm, bronze barrel alone weights 4 kgs.
